larger: x
smaller: 180 - x
x + 16 = 3 (180 - x)
distribute the 3
x + 16 = 540 - 3x
subtract 16 from both sides
x = 524 - 3x
add 3x to both sides
4x = 524
divide both sides by 4
x = 131 (larger)
180 - 131 = 49 (smaller)
