To write a convincing letter, you must examine the American custom through the eyes of an outsider. What may seem perfectly natural and logical to us may seem silly to someone from a foreign country.

Think about what foreign students must think when they are first confronted with American children dressing in rags and outlandish costumes, going out knocking on doors begging for candy, and threatening to pull a trick on the people who have no candy for them. Or what about American customs at Christmas and Thanksgiving?

Hello I am _____, and I have just moved to America. They have an actual Santa Clause, Christmas, and Easter. I dont't even have that where I am from. Some of the children are tromendously rude about my clothing. They wear high brand clothing while i wear rags. I go on doors knocking for food, all I get is an unfriendly stare. People go in stores yelling for the manager, I had no idea what a manager was so I helped her, and she gave me a candy! Now I just ask people who yell for the "manager" for candy.
