A magnitude 8 earthquake is actually 1000 times bigger than a magnitude 5 earthquake.

It also is 31622.776 times stronger.

Answer: The shaking will be 1000 times more when magnitude is 8 on the Richter Scale.

Step-by-step explanation:

Richter Scale is the numerical scale which express the magnitude of the earthquake with the help of seismographic oscillations.

Each level on Richter scale is 10 times more stronger than the previous one.

We are given the magnitude of 8 which is three levels up tan magnitude 5. Hence, the shaking will be ( 10 × 10 × 10) = 1000 times more then the magnitude 5 on the Richter Scale.
