Answer:

equation of new function is
f(x)= x^2 -9

Explanation:

If you shift the quadratic parent function, F(x) = x^2, down 9 units.

Parent function is f(x)= x^2

IF we shift any function 'a' units down then

f(x) becomes f(x) - a

for shifting down subtract 'a' units from the parent function

If you shift the quadratic parent function, f(x) = x^2, down 9 units

then f(x) becomes f(x)-9

So equation of new function is
f(x)= x^2 -9
