As part of his exercise routine Andy walked around his rectangular block three complete times. If the block was three times as long as it was wide and the total distance walked is 5280 feet what is the length of the shortest side of the block?

Width = x
Length = 3x

Perimeter = x + x + 3x + 3x = 8x
He walked 3 rounds
3 x 8x = 24x

Total distance walked = 5280 feet
24x = 5280
x = 220

Shortest side is 220 feet
