what is an equation of the line that passes through the point (4,5) and is parallel to the line whose equation is y=2/3x-4?

Since the line is parallel the slope will also by 2/3.
Only the y-intercept will be different.
Multiply 2/3 by 4 to get how much you should subtract from 5 to find the
y-intercept, which is 8/3 or 2 2/3.
Subtract that amount from 5 to get 2 1/3, the new y-intercept.
The new equation is y = 2/3x + 2 1/3.
