Answer:
158\ cm^2

Explanation:

Given: Length =8 centimeters

Width = 3 centimeters

Height =5 centimeters.

We know that the surface area of a rectangular prism is given by :-

\text{Surface area}=2(lw+wh+hl)\\\\\Rightarrow\ \text{Surface area}=2(8\cdot3+3\cdot5+5\cdot8)\\\\\Rightarrow\ \text{Surface area}=2(24+15+40)\\\\\Rightarrow\ \text{Surface area}=2(79)\\\\\Rightarrow\ \text{Surface area}=158\ cm^2

Hence, he surface area of this right rectangular prism=
158\ cm^2

Hello!

Formula for surface area of a rectangular prism:

FORMULA:

A = 2(wl + hl + hw)

SUBTITUTE:

A = 2[(3 × 8) + (5 × 8) + 5 × 3)]

SOLVE:

A = wl

A = 3 × 8

A = 24

A = hl

A = 5 × 8

A = 40

A = hw

A = 5 × 3

A = 15

A = 2(24 + 40 + 15)

A = 158

A N S W E R:

The surface area of the prism is 158 cm sq.
