A mixture of two compounds, a and b, was separated by extraction. after the compounds were dried, their masses were found to be: 105 mg of compound a and 91 mg of compound

b. both compounds were recrystallized and weighed again. after recrystallization, the mass of compound a was 91 mg and the mass of compound b was 83 mg. calculate the percent recovery from recrystallization for both compounds.

m₁(A) = 105 mg.
m₂(A) = 91 mg.
The percent recovery from recrystallization A: 91 mg ÷ 105 mg · 100%.
The percent recovery from recrystallization A: 86,6%.
m₁(B) = 91 mg.
m₂(B) = 83 mg.
The percent recovery from recrystallization B: 83 mg ÷ 91 mg · 100%.
The percent recovery from recrystallization B: 91,2%.
