b= brother's age
B-18=16
Since he said his age minus 18 is your sister, and your sister 16.
All you have to do is add 18 to 16 to find your brother's age.
34=B

Hello!
The sister's age is 16, the brother's age is his age minus 18.
The equation would be:
B - 18 = 16
Use the opposite operation -- add 18
18 + 16 = 34
B = 34
A N S W E R:
The brother is 34 years old.
