STEP 1:
Find total revenue that day.
R= revenue

R=Ending balance - morning balance
R=$963 - $200
R=$763 total revenue (including tax)


STEP 2:
Find # Items Sold.
x= # items sold

Total day's revenue equals $1 times # items sold plus the sales tax times # of items sold.

763= $1x + 9%x
763= 1x + 0.09x
763= 1.09x
divide both sides by 1.09
700= x

Since items are all $1, there were 700 items were sold.
