A painting measures 15 cm long by 24 cm high. You buy two posters, each showing an enlargement of the painting. The first poster measures 45 cm long by 72 cm high. The second poster measures 97.5 cm long by 156 cm high. Which of the following is true? (Hint: To be an accurate representation of the painting, would the the poster be similar to the painting?)

A. Both posters are accurate representations of the painting
B. Both posters are not accurate representations of the painting
C. The first poster is an accurate representation of the painting, but the second poster is not an accurate representation
D. The first poster is not an accurate representation of the painting, but the second poster is an accurate representation.

The Answer Is C The fist poster is the proper representation, because find the areas compare the paintings to the first poster it is 360 to 3240 which shows the poster is 9x bigger but compared to the second one it is out of proportion for the painting and first poster

Answer:

Option A is the correct answer.

Explanation:

A painting measures 15 cm long by 24 cm high.

Height to length ratio
=(24)/(15)=1.6

The first poster measures 45 cm long by 72 cm high

Height to length ratio
=(72)/(45)=1.6

The second poster measures 97.5 cm long by 156 cm high

Height to length ratio
=(156)/(97.5)=1.6

All the ratios are similar, so both posters are an accurate representation of the painting.

Option A is the correct answer.
