Hey there!

First, put this in point-slope form.

y-y1= m(x-x1)

Plug in the points and slope.

y-6=3(x-8)

Distribute the 3.

y-6= 3x-24

Add 6 on both sides.

y= 3x-18

y=mx+b <== b is the y-intercept

The y-intercept equals -18.

I hope this helps!
