Option B: 0.20

An ideal machine is where there is not friction or the same amount of effort put on the machine is wasted to overcome friction. IMA stands for Ideal Mechanical Advantage. For a lever system, it can be calculated using the following formula:

IMA=(Effort distance)/(resistance distance)

Here, resistance distance corresponds to the length of the whole ramp,

length of ramp=\left (1.2+0.3  \right )=1.5m

Thus, resistance distance is 1.5 m

And the effort distance is 0.3 m

On putting the values in the fromula:

IMA=(0.3 m)/(1.5 m)=0.20

Therefore, IMA for the liver system is 0.20.
