Is this a civil case or a criminal case? 3 details needed from the article.

Police in Philadelphia received a tip from an anonymous caller about the location of a wanted drug dealer that goes by the name Krazy-8 . Late Tuesday night, police acted on the tip and visited a local residence where Krazy-8 was purported to be living. Upon arrival the police noticed that the door to the residence appeared to be broken into. Due to the suspicious activity and reported tip, the police enter the home where they found drug kingpin Krazy-8 using crystal methamphetamine, a highly addictive drug. Police reported that Krazy-8 tried to escape out the window of the home but was quickly apprehended and arrested. During the arrest, police retrieved more than $50,000 worth of crystal meth and other drug paraphernalia.

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s office as well as representatives from the DEA have not yet commented on the case but lawyers representing Krazy-8 say they will be appealing any charge the government brings against their client, claiming law enforcement officers violated Krazy-8’s rights. “…among other violations, Krazy-8 was never read the Miranda Warning during his arrest and was questioned for 4 hours before he was given access to a phone to contact us for representation” commented Lisa Meadows, lawyer for Krazy-8.

The case will be heard in court on March 18th.

i believe this is a criminal case
It is a criminal case because it is the state versus the drug lord. While determining the case, however, the judge will have to rule whether the drug lord rights were violated, and if such was to be established, the drug lord and their lawyer can file a separate proceedings, which would be a civil case.
