Antigone tells Ismene that Creon ordered a full funeral honoring Eteocles, according to their customary rites and leave Polyneices to rot with no funeral or lament.

Antigone tells her sister that Eteocles would get a proper burial with all honors and rites while his brother, and their brother as well, Polyneices would not get anything and he would not even be lamented. This sparks the whole story where Antigone wants to bury him even though it is against the law and is direct defiance of Creon who is the new ruler of Thebes.
