Give an example of a problem involving multiplication of fractions that can be made easier using the associative property. Explain how it makes the problem easier.

(5 * 1/3) * 3 = 5 * (1/3 * 3)

the associative property of multiplication allows us to regroup the numbers without changing the answer

(5 * 1/3) * 3 = 5/3 * 3 = 15/3 = 5
but by regrouping, it is much easier
5 * (1/3 * 3) = 5 * 1 = 5

another example..
(6 * 2/3) * 3/2 =
12/3 * 3/2 =
12/2 =
6
but by regrouping...
6 * (2/3 * 3/2) =
6 * 1=
6
