Artists have been revealed to be racists, misogynists, anti-Semites, homophobes, creeps, criminals and hypocrites.

Should that change how we view their art? Or should art solely be judged by its aesthetic merit?

Does a viewer have an ethical responsibility to stop enjoying art because of a “problematic” artist? Why?

Answer:

Both

Step-by-step explanation:

I think art has a physical artistry part, and it also represents something, so I think we should also judge art this way. It's first how does it look? Then, what does it represent, what doesn't it represent? Do you support what it represents? We have to look at the surface, and under, because that's what art is. It's the physical beauty of the art, and then the ideas that the art represents.

hope this helps:)
