The graph f(x)= √x

is sketched in red and the graph of g(x) is sketched in green. Use the translation rule and f(x)= √x to identify the function g(x).

The graphs of the functions can be transformed, obtaining related functions.
We consider the following transformation:
It is assumed that c is a positive constant, ie c> 0 and y = f (x) then:
y = f (x) - c moves the graph c units down.
For this case:
g (x) = √x - 5
Answer:
the function g (x) is:
g (x) = √x - 5
