Answer:

According to Freud, there are three components of our mind that interact with each other while making a decision. These are

1) ID

2) Ego

3) Superego.

Step-by-step explanation:

Freud's Psychoanalytical theory of personality argues that the above mentioned three components of our mind interact with each other while making a decision.

ID is the component of mind that is concerned with the prompt gratification of basic physical needs. Superego is concerned with the social and cultural aspects. Superego tells the person, it is not right to do the thing. Ego is the aspect which balances the id and superego by compromising on an wise solution.

In this example, Id component of Nadina will ask her to buy the sweater. Superego will stop her to buy it. Whereas Ego will find a wise way of whether it is needed or not. And then the decision will be made by her.

The situation asked for the behavior of Nadine based on the id, superego, and ego based on Freud's theory.

The id would try to make Nadine have the desire to buy the sweater even if she doesn't have the means of buying. The superego, however, prevents her from buying the sweater by suppressing her thoughts. Then, the ego balances the illogical desires and weigh if buying is necessary.
