Harding’s administration was plagued by scandals. This ranged from his womanizing to accusations of bribery in his cabinet. Still, there were some achievements during Harding’s time such as a good economy as well brokering a naval pact with the British and Japanese Government. Coolidge tried to present a cleaner image of the White House in the wake of his predecessor’s scandal. Though he helped with the Dawes Plan which paid debts after WWI and did not recognized the Soviet Union.
