How can tobacco cause cancer due to mutations in the cell??? someone help me plz

Gene mutations can cause the loss of normal functions in control of cellular growth, ultimately resulting in cellular proliferation and cancer.

Of the chemicals in tobacco, 60 of them are reported to be known cancer-causing substances (carcinogens). Many of them cause DNA damage and gene mutations in body cells that then replicate to result in large numbers of abnormal cells.
