Solve the following equation by factoring 6x^2-5x-50

6 + -50 = -300

-300 = -2*2*3*5*5

- we need 2 numbers which add up to -5 and multiply to -50

from the factors of -300 they are -20 and 15, so we have

6x^2 + 15x - 20x - 50 = 0

3x(2x + 5) - 10(2x + 5) = 0

(3x - 10)(2x + 5) = 0

so x = 10/3 , -5/2 Answer
