8 times 12 = 96
96 divided by 5 = 19.2 => 20 since 19 times 5 is 95 so add one more

a dozen is 12 so 8 dozen is 96 so 96/5=19.2 so he should have at maximum 19 packages with 2.4 cupcakes left over
