the property that justifies this equivalence is the distributive property. you disribute by multiplying 5 and x to get 5x and 5 times negative 2 to get negative 10

Hey there! :D
The
distributive
property is what makes 5(x-2) to 5x-10
The distributive property states that a(b+c)= ab+ac
So, 5(x-2)= 5x-10
I hope this helps!
