Answer:

y = -1/2x+7

Explanation:

First find the slope using the slope formula

m = ( y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

= (3-5)/( 8-4)

= -2/4

= -1/2

The slope intercept form is

y = mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y intercept

y = -1/2x+b

Substitute a point into the equation

3 = -1/2(8) +b

3 = -4+b

Add 4 to each side

3+4 = -4+b+4

7 = b

y = -1/2x+7
