Answer:

Option: B is the correct answer.

B. 2 pounds.

Explanation:

It is given that:

Juan’s bag of apples that he bought weighed 31/7 pounds.

Ari’s bag of oranges that she bought weighed 19/3 pounds.

Let Ari's bag be x times heavier than Juan's bag.

This means that:

x=(19)/(3)-(31)/(7)\\\\i.e.\\\\x=(19* 7-31* 3)/(21)\\\\i.e.\\\\x=(133-93)/(21)\\\\i.e.\\\\x=(40)/(21)\\\\i.e.\\\\x=1.904

which is approximately equal to 2 pounds.

The amount by which Ari's bag is heavier then the Juan's Bag is approx : 2 pounds
