Farmer Joogh started with 90 yoys on his farm. Every month, he got 3 more of them. Farmer Dubble started with 21 yoys on her farm. Every month, she bought 6 more of them. Write a system of equations, in slope-intercept form, to model each farmer's yoys (y) as months (x) increase.

Answer:

  1. y = 3x + 90
  2. y = 6x + 21

Explanation:

The standard equation for slope-intercept form is

y = mx + b

where m is the slope or the "change" and b is the y-intercept. Hence, the name slope-intercept form.
