Amniocentesis.
That is a study that is done during pregnancy and allows you to collect information about the baby's development by taking a sample of the amniotic fluid. This is the fluid that surrounds the baby in the uterus. The most common reason for an amniocentesis is to determine if the baby has a genetic condition or a chromosomal abnormality
