1710/45 will give you the width (38) because length times width equals the area.

Hello!
The formula for area is l × w.
45 × ___ = 1,710 sq ft
The opposite of multiplication is division, so that means you must divide the area (1,710) by the length (45) to find the width:
1,710 ÷ 45 = 38
Therefore, the width of the field is 38 ft.
