The word arthroscopy comes from two greek word that means "arthro" (joint) and "skopein" (to look). Therefore, combining the two words would literally means "to look within the joint."

This is a minimally invasive surgical procedure on a joint in which a surgeon uses these images to guide the miniature surgical instruments to correct the damage of the joint.
