The sun is a star in the milky way galaxy. Milky way is the galaxy that contains the solar system which represents the sun and all the objects that orbit around it. These includes the planets, moon, asteroids, comets and meteoroids. Alpha Centauri is the closest star system to the solar system, Betelgeuse is the bright size star that marks the right section of the constellation Orion. Proxima Centauri known as the Alpha Centauri C, is the closest star to the earth located in the Constellation Centaurus.
