how do you identify the metal carbonate?? how would you know if something is a metal carbonate?? (if it's in a word equations not symbol) would it just have the metal name and carbonate at the end? like calcium carbonate?

Yes, anything with carbonate, hydrogen carbonate (bicarbonate) at the end is a carbonate.

Examples:NaHCO3 (Sodium hydrogen carbonate or Sodium bicarbonate)Na2CO3 (Sodium carbonate)
