Where did Calvinism end up spreading to? Who opposed Calvinism?

John Calvin believed that people should lead good lives because no one knows who God has chosen for salvation. Calvinism spread to England, Scotland, France, the Netherlands, and parts of Germany.

Calvinism spread to into Geneva, and escpeally into France, Britian, Scotland, and Italy during the 1550's. I don't know who opposed it though, sorry for that.
