Hierarchical

The bureaucracy of the US Federal Government is hierarchical.
A hierarchical bureaucracy is based on the model proposed by Weber, where everyone should have clear in their mind what is their role inside the institution and who is in charge, in order to run the institution, in this case, the federal government, smoothly.
