Answer: 1 solution: x = -20

Solve for x.
-6(x + 7) = -4x - 2 Distributive Property
-6x - 42 = -4x - 2 Add 4x to both sides
-2x - 42 = -2 Add 42 to both sides
-2x = 40 Divide by -2 to both sides
x = -20 Answer!

Remember:
1. If it ends in a true statement such as 6 = 6, then x can be all real numbers.
2. If it ends in a false statement such as 7 = 6, then there is no solution.
