There are several different pieces of evidence that give this away. One piece of evidence would be the date in which the journal entry was created. The First Great Awakening took place during the 1730's and 1740's in England. This document would fall in this time period.

Another piece of evidence that gives this away is the fact that the journal refers to "ministers preaching" for several hours throughout the day. The Great Awakening really revolved around these types of events in which preachers can share the word of God with other citizens.
