Al predicted that he would sell 220 hot dogs at lunch time. When the hot dogs ran out, 35 people were still waiting in line to buy hot dogs. What was the percent error in the estimate? Round the answer to the nearest tenth. ∵

Assuming 1 hot dog per person, the error was
.. (220/(220 +35) -1)*100% = -13.7%

Al's prediction was 13.7% low.
