The style is direct.
In "Hills Like White Elephants," everything is boiled down and condensed. Hemingway's writing is journalistic and no-nonsense; he reports dialogue cleanly and directly, without any fluffy adjectives or fancy descriptions. This tight economy of words is perhaps thething that makes Hemingway iconic

While the narration might seem cold and detached, emotion is present—it's just below the surface. The more we explore this story, the more we feel what Jig and the man might be feeling, and the more our own emotions try to come to the surface.

(p.s. I too read it from a random website)

The writing style relates to the content of the story in "Hills like white elephants" because this work of Hemingway has the constant use of simile. From the title, we can see the similies related to the story where the belly of a pregnant woman represents the hill, and the white elephant makes reference to an unwanted thing or a burden, in this case, the same pregnancy. we have similes of the title throughout this points in the story.
