In order to send troops to Vietnam, the United States used the draft system. The draft was a controversial issue, and many Americans not only protested the draft, but made attempts to avoid it. First tell me how the draft system works and who was drafted? age, status, class, upper, middle, lower etc. Then tell me the ways many American expressed their disagreement with the draft either with symbolic gestures or taking actions to literally avoided being drafted

The way the draft system works is people are sent a draft notice often from a branch that is interested in them when they sign up. The age often varies. It usually starts at 18 and goes up from there. The rank is determined by the commander when the person is enlisted.
