"Our Town" by Thornton Wilder is an allegory of life set over three days, that uses three parts to reference birth, life and death, the cyclical nature of life. The stage manager's narration throughout the play is of death, where marriage is the ultimate point in a person's life and love is the integral part of everyone's lives. The characters of Our Town the merely allegorical for this reason, to represent the diversity and themes of birth, life, love and death.
