-1/8(x+35)=-7
*-8 *-8
cancel out the -1/8 by multiplying by its reciprocal, 8/-1 or -8
x+35=56
-35 -35
cancel out the 35 by subtracting
x= 21
so multiply by the reciprocal and then subtract
should be your answer
