To find the slope, you need to use the slope formula.

Find the slope using the slope formula:

m = (Y_2 - Y_1)/(X_2 - X_1)

Using the slope formula, plugin your points. I am going to use (6,9) as point 2 and (7,1) as point 1

m = (Y_2 - Y_1)/(X_2 - X_1)

m = (9 - 1)/(6 - 7) = (8)/(-1) = -8

So our slope of the line through (6,9) (7,1) is - 8
