The biggest differences between these belief systems is that Daoism has an intuitive anarchy, Confucianism in very benevolent, and legalism emphasizes order above all other human concerns. Daoism is a religion while Confucianism is just a philosophy.

The Daoism philosophy is based on respect towards nature, that of Legalism is based on loyalty towards the government and the Confucianism philosophy is based on respect for others.
