Hey there!

y = 3x+6 \\ \\ x = 2y \\ \\ \\ y = 3(2y) + 6

You would have to simplify both of your sides

We add

6y to the
6

Like:
y = 6y + 6

Now subtract
6y to your sides

Like:

y - 6y \\ 6y + 6 - 6y = -5y = 6

Now we have to divide by
-5 on each of your sides

Like:
(-5y)/(-5) = (-6)/(5)

Answer:
y = (-6)/(5)

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
