1 quart= 4 cups
1 gallon= 1 quart
1 recipe= 1 quart
Tripled recipe= 3 * 1 quart= 3 quarts
Tripled recipe= 3 quarts * 4 cups per quart= 12 cups used in triple recipe
1 gallon= 16 cups
16 cups - 12 cups used= 4 cups left
