The line “Through tangled juniper, beds of reeds, / through many a fen where the serpent feeds” is a very good example of imagery. The image of the plants covering the land in disarray that suggests nobody has ever passed or stepped on that place before, that it has become home for some wild and venomous snakes. The picture is so vivid that you can easily see it in your mind. It is threatening, unknown and mysterious that only one who does not care about his own safety or out of his mind would ever go that way.
