The numbers would be x and (2x-6).
We would have to solve the following equation.
x+(2x-6)=21
3x-6=21
3x=27
x=27/3=9 Then, the other number would be 2x-6=2*9-6=18-6=12
Answer: the numbers would be 9 and 12,
