so f(0) means when ever you see x in a equation you plug in 0.
is your equation right?
5^(0) - 1 =
1-1= 0

f(x) = 5^(x) - 1
f(0) = 5^(0) - 1
5^0 = 1
f(0) = 1 - 1
f(0) = 0
0 should be your answer
