During the spring/summer equinox, temperatures begin rising across the country, bringing hot and humid temps to places, along with thunderstorms. April is the typical month for rain in the US, and also bears its comical rhyme "April showers bring May flowers." The rain helps the plants come back to life after a long winter, and the warm temperatures bring animals out of hibernation, and thus breeding seasons for animals begins. Some places, such as the northern states, may still experience cold snaps between Spring and Summer as they are farther from the equator, but closer to the north pole.
