What was the goal of Enlightenment writers such as Hobbes and Locke? Ex. Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. From the most fundamental of standpoints,Enlightenment political thinkers sought to integrate scientific principles or ideas into governing policy and practice.

The goal of the enlightenment writers was to limit the government from interfering with the rights of the people.
The Enlightenment (18th century) was an era when people started focusing on themselves, on their own lives, education, and rights, as opposed to religion or obeying their lord unconditionally. They realized they deserve more, which is why often writers of this era wanted to fight for the rights of all people through their literature.
